Won't you join us? People of all backgrounds, traditions, and ages are coming together, experiencing these buildings and land as 'common ground to grow on', a place where joy comes from compassionate connection!
We are inspired by the beauty of these buildings and Bridget, (the earth herself). We are restoring this community space, awakened to the interconnection of all that is. This is space to transform, where peace, nourishment, and resiliency are accessed and in so doing, we grow a global community called humanity, with awesome, local, Kewaskum hospitality!
This 100+-year-old, hand-chiseled, stone building intends to be The Beautiful World Center, (formerly St. Bridget School). It closed 60 years ago and is in great need of repair to house the new. We wish to recapture the loving, playful energy of the past, bringing it into the now, to serve on a new turn of the spiral with a heart of gratitude. This building is intended to house: a local eatery; teaching kitchen; lodging; multipurpose learning space; healing room and meditation/prayer space. Workshops, retreats, products, and services are designed to assist lifestyle changes for simple, holistic, compassionate living to grow inner peace and ease, offer nourishment for body, mind, spirit, and access sustainability through a resilient community now forming.
Sustainable, permaculture principles are incorporated throughout the project. This first crowdfunding campaign requests your prayer intentions, resourcefulness, and financial support to accomplish the following: -finish paying for the new metal roof, -asbestos mitigation, -mold remediation, -foundation work, (gravel basement, add sump pump), -and new preliminary plans/permits
$50,000 is needed by December 25, 2017. We forgo salaries. All money raised is to advance the project, to move this 501c3 social-profit forward. Be a generator of hope. Be generous, please. Any size donation or participation is appreciated. This is truly a 'love call'!
Bridget Center for Peace, Nourishment, and Sustainability will serve all who seek wholeness, with or without financial means, here in the Kettle Moraine Area of Southeastern Wisconsin, USA, and beyond!
The new neurosciences support what our most ancient wisdom traditions have taught for centuries...that inner Peace is a shift in perspective, from separation to Oneness through the practice of a compassionate heart. Nourishment is holistic for body, mind, spirit engaging participants in Bridget's Gratitude Gardens, (i.e. celebrations, community apothecary, produce, and green burial). We have discovered that community is the secret to Sustainability where resiliency and gratitude grow only through practice. The Inner Gardens are home to the Community Apothecary and The Outer Gardens are intended for Green Burial. The Sanctuary, (former chapel building), offers a place for silence and song, solitude and movement. The legal Outhouse is for contemplation and releasing what no longer serves!
Generous donors have given over $136,000 to acquire and maintain St. Bridget Chapel/School with 3.25 acres in recent years. Since September 2017, $21,550 has been raised for a downpayment of the roof. These collected funds are not reflected in the capital campaign request. Mission driven, donor supported.
'Very great change starts from very small conversations, held among people who care.' Margaret J. Wheatley
We will keep you connected to Bridget Center emerging through future funding campaigns. Thank you for your generous and cheerful support!
